Apartment Envy...

Obsessed with everything, E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G, about this colorful SoHo loft.
It belongs to Devon Radziwill and was photographed here by Vogue.

Wishful Wednesday... A light, bright dream home

Someday when I have my own home, it will have floor to ceiling windows and white walls and possibly floors as well. I can hardly breath looking at all of these photos... Give me natural light or give me death.

Wishful Wednesday... Have a Drink, Mad Men-Style

I think I have been watching too much Mad Men lately because all I can think about is creating the perfect bar cart with the perfect assortment of cocktail ingredients to sit upon it.

After a thorough amount of research I have determined that there are a few essential items needed: the cart,  a tray on which to display your alcohol selection, stylish glassware, some well-placed, strategic accessories and most importantly,  an impressive collection of liquor.

How lovely would it be to come in after a long day of work and be able to pour yourself a drink from one of these?

Sigh.

A Sunday in Brooklyn

On Sunday I spent the afternoon in Brooklyn with my sister. I just happened to be in New York again for work and my travel coincided with a trip she was making to visit friends from college.

Neither of us had never been to Brooklyn, so we spent the afternoon wandering around in the perfect New York fall weather and exploring. We had a cozy lunch, stopped by the Brooklyn farmer's market, shopped and enjoyed each other's company all afternoon.

The time we spent made me feel so excited about being reunited with all my sisters in just a few short weeks for Thanksgiving. We all don't get to see each other enough.

I hope it's not always like this.

Weekend Recap

You know when you have one of those weekends that's just perfect in every way? This past weekend was like that and I'm sad that it's over and that the week has started again.

Not only did I catch up on some much-needed sleep but the weather was perfect. Hope you're weekend was just as wonderful!

Grandpa's Chair

My grandfather used to sit in this deep, pale blue leather chair that was in my grandparent’s family room. It was his chair. He sat in it after work to read the paper and have a scotch and watch Wheel of Fortune. And sometimes if we were lucky we could sit on his lap in the chair.

We called it Grandpa’s chair and had this mystique about it.

My aunt has it now. It’s in their finished basement on an oriental rug. My cousins read books and play video games in it. But even though it has changed locations, it will always be my grandfather’s special chair.

Jered and I are on the hunt for a special chair of our own. I want something with character, a chair that adds a special touch to our room.

I think any of the below would do the trick.

Oh Deer... Etsy Roundup

Jered deserves all the credit for this post.

In an effort to dissuade me from making more zinc letters to spell something sleep-related and hang them over our bed, he’s been sending me alternate ideas for that space in our bedroom.

One of his ideas involves a deer head decal like in number 4 below.

His idea got me thinking back to all the Western décor we saw in Jackson Hole over the summer. As it turns out, Etsy has pages and pages of this stuff. And I’m in love with every single thing below…
